Low maintenance garden terraces

Last week Maxwell and I returned to Bishops Waltham where we extended the patio we built a few years ago to now have sleeper terraces filled with Scottish pebbles running down to a lower terrace area surrounded by more pebbles - the ideal setting for our client's many pot plants.  We installed a second water tap and hose at the lower level.   Before:

NEW SHED ROOF £350

A new shed roof typically costs £350 for labour plus materials.  I use good quality felt (£50/10m), stick it down with specialist bitumen-like adhesive, tack along edges and - importantly - edge all sides as shown in the photo with new timbers.  The edging is really important to enable a soft crease in the felt and to protect against the wind getting underneath the felt.  And it looks good!

September decorating

Note to self - take photos!  Just updating my website before heading off to Greece for a week.  I need, as ever, to take more photos of my completed work.  Some great jobs completed in September - Front porch and bay window repainted in Emsworth with doors in Farrow and Ball 'Stone Blue' (I will get a photo of this on return); some window repair and painting for a lady at Chantry Hall, Westbourne; a bedroom cupboard repainted in Bosham; and a newly plastered stairwell and landing painted in Dulux Egyptian Cotton in Chidham.  So a busy month and, just maybe, a well deserved break before returning to a busy decorating and patio schedule in October and November.
