Wall-papered and decorated cottage bedroom
Returned to a regular client in January 2023 to re-wallpaper and decorate this small cottage bedroom. Always happy to dig out the old wall-papering kit! Lots of wonky walls and exposed pipes add to the fun. Looking good and ready for next guests in the busy holiday let property.
Hall and landing redecorated, wooden floor stripped and revarnished
A new lease of life for this home in Chichester. Floor stripped back to bare wood and sealed with 4 coats of tough floor varnish. Ceilings, walls, doors, skirting and balustrades all repainted - after making good from 20 years of wear and tear. Walls in Farrow & Ball Green Blue and All White modern emulsion. More pictures to follow...
Exterior windows repainted
Six sash windows repainted inside and out, plus some timber soffits.
Shed with living roof
A client in a cottage in Chichester very sensibly keeps her tumble drier in the garden. She wanted a 'bespoke shed' for it with a living roof. A really fun project - and to save costs I used some recycled treated timbers around the back. Now waiting for planting - and some washing.
Extended patio to match existing
A client in Bishops Waltham wanted her patio extending - and here it is. Fairly straight-forward job here to excavate turf and topsoil, lay and compact w 100mm Type 1 MOT, then finish with 25mm proprietary slab concrete mixed on site and Marshalls Pendle Buff 450x450mm slabs to match existing. Existing slabs here were butted (no grouting between). Needs a month or two to weather and grass to grow back but then ready for breakfast al fresco!
Picket fence and decorative pebbles
Light landscaping for a new build - removed turf and topsoil, laid compacted scalpings and weed membrane, and finished with 20mm pebbles. Installed good quality picket fence and matching gate. A lovely afternoon sun trap for the lady owner and her dog.
Potager raised beds for cottage garden in Meonstoke village
Another project for clients in Meonstoke to build 2 new potager beds in a compact sloping area of their cottage garden next to the Bucks Head pub. Also built up an existing fruit and herb bed area to match, and laid paths with Terram and bark. Filled beds with 4-year rotted horse/alpaca manure, and 250mm compacted depth Rolawn fruit and veg topsoil.
Loft hatch and car port ply lining in Droxford
Returned to Mr Hoare in Droxford to line car port rafters in 9mm hardwood ply, plus good quality loft ladder for storage access. All painted in Zinsser All Coat white exterior emulsion to match adjoining properties.
